Play Craps Online
There are a few basic rules for learning to play craps online. There are a few complex bets that we will not review because they are designed to fool the beginner player to bet with a horrible house advantage.
The game is played on a special table with two dice. Up to 16 players can play at one time. The shooter is the player that will roll the dice. Once a round is complete, the dice are passed to the next player.
The first bet begins with the shooter. The shooter will place the bet on the 'don't pass' or 'pass' boxes. The bet must be placed on one of the boxes before the shooter can roll. Rolling a 2, 3, or 12 will loose the 'pass' bet, which is called a 'craps' roll. A 7 or 11 is called a natural and will win a 'pass' bet.
The play continues if the roll is not a craps roll. The number rolled becomes the point. The shooter continues to play until he rolls a 7 or the point number.
How The Game Is Played
If you are confused about the rules and process of play, it is okay. As you practice you will get better at the game. For beginners it can get a little confusing, but practice will make you better rather quickly.
The game begins with initial bets by the players. This is where players bet on the pass and don't pass lines. The craps player is the first to roll. This roll is called the 'come out' roll. The come out roll needs to be a 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 for one the wagers to win. After someone wins the bet that round is complete. If the roll comes out a 7 or 11 bets on the pass line will win, the don't pass lines will lose. The game is then over and a new shooter is chosen. If the roll is a 2, 3, or 12 then the pass line bets loose and the game is over, a new shooter is chosen.
If another number or dice score is rolled, like 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 the point will set the new dice score. This number is now the reference for the following rounds, and is referred to as 'the point'.
After completing the first come out roll, the player will roll the dice again and the game is now played in accordance to the score, the dice score.
If the roll is the point, then the game is over and the shooter takes its place. Next, the bets made on the pass line are now even odds and will return a prize that equals the sum of the bet. Any bets placed on don't pass will lose this score.
If roll of the dice is 7, then the game ends and the shooter changes. So, again the pass line loses, and the don't pass line will win the sum of what they put in. If the number rolled is not a 7 or the point, then the game continues. The same shooter rolls the dice again.
The last stage of the craps game is called 'hitting the point'. This occurs when the player who is rolling the dice rolls until they roll a 7 or the point score is reached. If the seven is rolled then the bet placed on the don't pass line wins. If the point is rolled, then the bets on the pass wins. The shooter will roll, or shoot, until the point or 7 is rolled. Betting during this time is permitted per the official craps rules.
